All kinds of editing for all kinds of writing

Every book is different, and every writer is too. That's why we don't offer one-size-fits-all services. Teresa Kennedy has more than 25 years' experience as both an editor and an author with more than 30 published books to her credit. She prides herself on her ability to cultivate long-term, professional relationships with her clients and guarantees the highest level of service, no matter what your needs and budget. Below is an overview of the many types of editing she offers, but no matter what your needs, she knows a good editor is a  true collaborator and will work with you to make your book the best it can be!

The Coaching Line Edit

By far our most popular service, a coaching line edit is a comprehensive service that will not only clean up your prose but offers insights and comments on your story's strengths and weaknesses. Teresa will point up inconsistencies, problems with pacing or plot; character development and all the other relevant points of fiction craft. Are you satisfied with your latest draft, but just don't feel it's quite there yet?  Do you want to kick your writing up a notch? This is the one to choose! Rates begin at just $2.00 per manuscript page and up.

Copyediting and Proofreading

When it's all in the details, this one's for you! Copyediting is designed for projects at or close to publication. We'll give a final polish to your prose; glam up your grammar, point up and correct any errors or inconsistencies, fact check, make sure your links work and any other issues that may arise. Proofreading is the part of the process that hunts up missing or misspelled words, corrects your punctuation, breaks up run-on sentences and gives the final polish for a letter-perfect presentation. So whether your project is a book-length manuscript or a last- minute blog post, this is the one to use. Rates begin at just $1.50 per manuscript page. Smaller jobs are charged at a flat rate per assignment.

Manuscript Evaluation

Want a professional opinion on what works and what doesn't? Know it needs fixing, but not sure what to do? This is an encouraging, in-depth critique that you just won't get from your writing buddies or your beta group. It is not only a detailed evaluation of your book's characters, plot developoment, pacing and marketability, it also examines issues such as dialogue, setting and scene, narrative voice and structure. Something of a crash course in writing technique, you'll receive a report of between 3500 and 6000 words that will examine each of these elements in depth, as well as advice on how to improve before you leap into your next draft. Rates begin at a flat fee of only $250 for the first 30,000 words.

Got all the ideas but none of the time? Need someone behind the curtain to turn your book or blog content into reality? As the author of more than 30 books in a wide variety of genres (and under a variety of pseudonyms) Teresa Kennedy is not only a talented editor, she's a versatile and talented writer whose books have been translated into 17 languages.
